Picture
Solstice Afternoon

While a hermit thrush
sings in the shadows
trees draw quiet lines
across the summer road
on which the Pearl Crescent
scribbles
a hasty butterfly
autograph.

I love the image of the trees drawing quiet lines across the summer road...in your poem about Pearl Crescent. As a watercolorist, I've often tried to capture convincing tree shadows on paper. Henceforth, looking at shadows will remind me of YOUR lines.
